About Jake
After achieving sobriety following 14 years of severe addiction — a journey that integrated faith, music, and personal transformation — I’ve dedicated my life to helping others grow through music.
I’m the Founder and CEO of Practicing Musician, a platform providing equitable access to world-class music education in 46 countries. I also serve as Founder and CEO of ClimbHigh.AI, Founding Chairman of Worshiping Musician, Founding Board Member of Classical Transcription Project, and sit on the boards of several other ventures. I hold a BA in Psychology from Pitzer College, completed the Executive Development Program at the University of Washington Foster School of Business, and earned a Financial Accounting Certificate from Harvard Business School Online.
My private coaching draws on all of it: 25+ years as a multi-instrumentalist, a research-based teaching methodology proven across thousands of students, and a holistic understanding of what it takes to develop as a musician and as a person.
